What is arthritis?
Arthritis is a disease caused by an excessive accumulation of metabolic waste products and other irritating toxins in the organization. Harmful waste products of metabolism can linger in the blood and lead to disastrous consequences if they are not promptly evacuated. If these toxins manage to accumulate in the blood, they can eventually agglomerate in a weak point in the body, most often in an overused joint or at the site of an old injury. This gradual agglomeration is without effect in its beginnings. Then, when the concentration of these substances increases to the point of irritating the nearby nerves, the pain appears for the first time. This is then a warning signal.
Often this pain is of short duration and for this reason it is neglected. But if this warning is overlooked and a remedy is not promptly applied, the clumping continues, along with the flare-ups of pain that gain in intensity and duration.

What is osteoarthritis?
Arthrosis is a disease caused by premature wear of the cartilage. It can affect all joints, but it occurs more frequently in certain joints: knees, hips, fingers (metacarpophalangeal joints of the thumb, proximal and distal interphalangeal joints) as well as the metacarpophalangeal joints of the big toe. Other joints, such as the shoulder, elbow and ankle, are affected less often. The spine, which can also be affected by osteoarthritis, presents a particular situation insofar as a large number of joints, muscles, ligaments and nerves move in relation to each other. Osteoarthritis is a chronic disease that progresses slowly. Very often, the cartilage has already undergone degradation before the pain appears. Signs of osteoarthritis may be visible on x-rays without the patient feeling any pain.

- Glucosamine
It is made by the body from glucose and glutamine, an amino acid. The glucosamine thus produced plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the cartilage of all joints. If, due to a metabolic deficiency or as a result of the aging process, the body no longer produces glucosamine in sufficient quantity, the cartilages begin to degenerate and osteoarthritis sets in.
In case of osteoarthritis, taking glucosamine daily provides relief from joint pain. Beyond this effect, it seems that it can stop or slow down the progression of osteoarthritis, unlike classic anti-inflammatories which, in the long term, would accelerate the degeneration of the joints. The mechanism of action of glucosamine has not yet been elucidated, but it may increase the lubricating action of synovial fluid and slow the breakdown of cartilage.

-Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM)
Sulfur compound present in very small quantities in many foods (fruits, vegetables, grains, milk, seaweed, meat , seafood, etc), methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) has been offered as a supplement since the end of the 1990s. Thanks to the sulfur it contains, MSM would contribute to preserving immune functions and maintaining connective tissues in good condition (tendons, deep dermis, collagen, cartilage, etc). It would play a catalytic role in the process of transforming food into energy and help eliminate toxins from the body.
Its effectiveness has been demonstrated in the relief of pain attributable to inflammation and osteoarthritis, faster healing from sports injuries, improved appearance of hair and nails, and less snoring.

Chondroitin is an essential constituent of cartilage and is naturally produced by the body. It is also present in the bones, the skin, the cornea and the membrane of the arteries. It contributes to the formation and maintenance of cartilage tissue. The role of this tissue is to ensure the retention of water in the cartilage and its elasticity, as well as the strength and flexibility of the joints.
As is the case with glucosamine , it is considered that chondroitin can relieve the pain of osteoarthritis and, beyond this symptomatic effect, that it could help to stop or slow down the degeneration of joint tissues.
The mode action of chondroitin is however still poorly understood. It is suspected that, on the one hand, it would promote the reconstruction of cartilage and partially inhibit the enzyme that destroys it (hyaluronidase). On the other hand, it would act in a similar way to glucosamine in terms of the formation of cartilage and synovial fluid.
Arthrosis affects women more often than men. At older ages, the disease occurs almost as often in men as in women.
The risk of having osteoarthritis increases with age, presumably because cartilage is regenerating less well in the elderly.

Take two tablets daily with a large glass of water at mealtimes.
